Comic Life

So far this year some of the work I have been doing with my centres has involved supporting teachers as they learn about different aspects of the programme Comic Life. I have been reminded again, what a fabulous programme this is. It works on both Mac and PC platforms and can be as simple as inserting photos with small amounts of text, to using it for your Learning Stories, making books and other possibilities too many to list!
What a fabulous way to involve children in self assessment by using Comic Life and supporting children as they select and insert their photos. You might use the speech bubbles to write in the discussion the child has with you about. Recently I worked with some children as they selected photos from a trip and they shared with me what had interested them in the photo and then we got on to talking about other aspects of the trip they enjoyed. I had some fabulous discussions!
It is also an easy way of inserting learning stories into e-portfolios as you are not doubling up on the work as you can print of a copy for the child’s portfolio and insert one easily into a blog as an image.

If you work in an Early Childhood Centre you can buy this software for $4.00 per machine which is an absolute bargain - just do a New Zealand Google search for Comic Life and the Bulk License will be one of the first links to come up in the search.
Cheers

Hi there,
You could try this link
http://naticluster.wikispaces.com/file/view/Comic+Life+License+flyer.doc

I sent Innes an email and it has not bounced back, it may be that some thing was missed out of the email address?
If you know my email or email the admin office through our website they can forward an email to me and I can give you more information.
Cheers
Jo

Hi Jo, I work at Country Kids in Nelson. A blog at Hunterpark Kindergarten's site led me to your blog. I am thrilled to learn about Comic Life. Have downloaded it and hopefully will learn to use it. Have you any more training course on it? Keith
